We made a DIY streaming bonded internet backpack for a truly mobile streaming experience. This setup harnesses two or more cellular signals and reconfigures them in the on a cloud based server. This allows you to take that signal directly into the live streaming app/production environment of your choice. The Jetson Nano serves as the brain of the operation where Belabox software is installed.
Belabox encodes and reassembles the video packets online utilizing SRT, making it a viable mobile streaming solution. In our setup, we have 3 modems connected to individual signals, two connected to T-Mobile and one connected to Verizon (we have since removed one of the t-mobile connections in favor of an AT&T one). Our camera is connected via an Elgato Camlink 4k.
This setup easily competes with the Teradek Vidiu Go ($1,500) and the LiveU Solo ($895) but it’s price comes in WAY lower, especially when you factor in the cost to maintain their required cloud service vs the very affordable Belabox Cloud ($10/mo at time of writing).
This bonded internet backpack allows professional level streaming quality on the go.
